Important Bullrings in Mexico

In this section you´ll find some of the most important bullrings in our country. In Mexico, there are more than 300 bullrings of first, second and third class. The bullrings shown here are only a part of those with more activitie during the year.


Plaza Monumental de Aguascalientes

Capacity: 16000 persons. Inaugurated in November 23, 1974, with six bulls of Torrecilla for Manolo Martinez, Eloy Cavazos and Fermín Espinosa. Property of state´s goberment. First class Bullring.


Plaza "San Marcos"

Capacity: 5000 persons. Inaugurated in April 24, 1896, with five bulls of El Venadero for Juan Jiménez "El Ecijano".Private property. Made of stone and sun-dried brick.First class Bullring.


Plaza Monumental de Apizaco

Capacity: 7000 persons. Inaugurated in December 27, 1986 with bulls of Piedras Negras, Tequisquiapan, Javier Garfias, Coaxamalucan, San Mateo, Reyes Huerta, Santa Rosa de Lima and Manuel de Haro, for Mariano Ramos, Miguel Espinosa "Armillita", Manolo Mejia and Alberto Ortega. Property of Municipal goberment. Second class bullring.


Plaza de Toros de Cancún

Capacity: 5500 persons. Inauguraten in December 20,1989 with six bulls of Manolo Espinosa, for Manolo Espinosa, Jesús Solórzano, Mariano Ramos, Manolo Arruza, César Pastor and Jorge Ávila. Private property. It was the bullring which held the most bullfights in all the world during 1990. Second class bullring.


Plaza "Antonio Velázquez"

Capacity: 1100 persons. Situated at Restaurant "Arroyo". Private property. Third class bullring.


Plaza Revolución

Capacity: 15000 persons. Inauguraten in November 24, 1940, with six bulls of La Punta for Fermín Espinosa "Armillita" and Lorenzo Garza. First class bullring.


Plaza Monumental de Monterrey

Capacity: 12000 persons. Inaugurated in August 29, 1937, with six bulls of La Punta for Fermín Espinosa "Armillita" and Lorenzo Garza. First class bullring.


Plaza Monumental de Morelia

Capacity: 15000 persons. Inaugurated in March 2, 1955 with six bulls of La Punta for Carlos Arruza, Rafael Rodríguez and Julio Aparicio. Private property. First class bullring.


Palacio del Arte

Capacity: 4000 persons. Inaugurated in 1988. Private property. First class bullring.


Plaza Santa María de Querétaro

Capacity: 13000 persons. Inaugurated in December 22, 1963 with six bulls of Santa María for Alfredo Leal, Antonio del Olivar and Miguel Mateo "Miguelín". Private property. Third class bullring.


Plaza "Silverio Pérez"

Capacity: 5500 persons. Inaugurated in March 11, 1989 with six bulls of El Junco for Miguel Espinosa "Armillita", Jorge Gutiérrez and César Pastor. Second class bullring.
